The Collection In 1986 Liz McGrath purchased the old Look-out that was the first hotel to be transformed from a virtually derelict hotel into the exclusive Plettenberg, where now the rich and famous enjoy one of the most dramatically beautiful views in the world. In 1992 she purchased the Cellars Country House, and a year later, The Hohenort next door. With extensive renovations to the buildings and the beautiful gardens it became the Cellars Hohenort Hotel, a haven of peace and tranquilty. In 1998 Liz added a one hundred year old landmark - The Marine Hermanus. It is built on a rocky headland with breathtaking vistas of sea, mountains and miles of golden sand. The grace, charm and hospitality of the other two hotels are mirrored at The Marine Hermanus. |
