Set imposingly in one of
the prettiest villages in the Cotswolds, Lower Slaughter Manor was largely
rebuilt in 1658 by the acclaimed stonemason Valentine Strong, whose son
was later to become chief stonemason for St Paul's Cathedral under the
direction of Sir Christopher Wren. Its history dates back nearly 1,000
years and it is known that a Manor House stood on the site before the
Norman Conquest.
